ArtisonAgrotech Private Limited was formed with a vision to develop organic and eco-friendly green products. Artison’s founding team has done extensive research to develop alternative of timber for industrial & household use with the purpose of setting up of first of its own kind of integrated bamboo product plants in Madhya Pradesh.
The Company has proposed to set up an integrated bamboo based facility comprising, setting up of downstream and upstream business in Khandwa, Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, to be implemented in phases.
The integrated facilities consists of:
AAPL established captive seed based nursery to develop bamboo seedlings (Bambusa Bamboos) apart from utilizing seven of the forest department’s in Madhya Pradesh.
AAPL’s target of bamboo plantation is over 10 crores seedlings per annum. In first phase, plantation will be done on farm land in feeder rivulets of Narmada River valley near Harda, Khandwa, Hoshangabad, Barwani& Jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh, and, further plantation shall be extended to Chindwara, Seoni, Balaghat, Sagar, Sidhi& Rewa, developing livelihood of over 2 lacs farmers & Tribals in Madhya Pradesh.
Given their mechanical properties, it has been learnt that bamboo stem can have wide applications in various industrial as well as household activities.
Setting up of manufacturing facility in Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra processing various forms of bamboo boards with initial capacity of 25 m3/ day and further expanding to 650m3/day. Expansion will be done on phase wise basis with Glue Board to Particle Board, MDF & OSB further converted to flat furniture/ pre fabricated houses.
As a result, market for bamboo based products has grown multi-fold over last few years in both domestic as well as international markets and has been estimated at USD 20 Bn by end of 2018.
The Company has achieved word of appreciation and business commitment from several multinationals OEMs. AAPL has also received expression of interest from several such multinationals.
Project in a Nutshell
The Company has proposed to set up an integrated facility comprising, setting up of downstream and upstream business at an estimated cost of USD 90.66 MM in India or any other suitable location where plantation and factory land is available readily. The integrated facilities will consist of;
a. Nurseries & tissue culture laboratories with a capacity of producing 15 million saplings per annum.
b. Bamboo based Particle Board plant having a capacity of 650 m3 per day.
c. Bamboo based Medium Density Fiber Board plant having a capacity of 650 m3 per day (Phase II).
d. Furniture plant having a capacity of 1000 m3 per day.
A detailed survey conducted on the domestic market potential of India, reveal that apart from traditional uses of bamboo in Household and construction, bamboo can well substitute wood in various applications. The expected market size in India for all the above items is well over Rs. 26,000 crore by the year 2015. This is in addition to the usage of Rs 1800 crore that already exists. The world market for Bamboo & bamboo based products has been estimated at i.e. Rs 90,000 crores by the end of 2015 (Source: Market Report by Bamboo Mission & SS Maiti.). India is slated to be one of the major players in this developing market. Global organizations like IKEA, Habitat, The Body Shop, Oxfam and others have been in the past few years big bulk buyers of such organic products due to the high demand of organic and naturals substances all across the world.
