Employment Generation - Artison estimates that it will require directly and indirectly substatial workforce for plantation. Accordingly, a plantation of this size will create huge employment opportunity for local villagers. Adding also the requirement of unskilled labour for factory, power generation and effluent treatment plant, we envisage this project will directly benefit approximately 15,000– 20,000 people.
The proposed Integrated Bamboo Project will create 3000 direct employment opportunities in organised sector and another 4.8 lakh mandays of labour annually in plantation.
SUSTAINABLE EARNING FOR LOCAL FARMERS
In addition to bamboo from own production, we plan to buy bamboo from the local farmers/producers. As bamboo is not a seasonal crop, it will create a round the year earning potential for the local farmers.
Socio-economic Development of Backward Areas - The project envisages uplifting the living standards of tribals, rural farmers and employees through income generation, skill development, social activities. Development of ancillary pre processing centres for components of Bamboo based Boards at rural areas will boost the rural economy.
